WhatsApp Web’s login page is getting a redesign as voice calls get confirmed in upcoming iPad app

WhatsApp updates for mobile app keep on coming out frequently but this time there’s update for users of its browser-based web app. The Facebook-owned messaging service has updated WhatsApp Web to the 0.2.8299 version with new features.

According to a report on WabetaInfo, WhatsApp has for the first time redesigned the login page of the web version of the app.

Other updates includes the ability to place voice calls on the iPad app. An iPad user will need to have a stable internet connection on the tablet at all times and the app is expected to look very similar to the WhatsApp Web version.

The website also mentioned that it will get similar push notifications as seen on the Web version.

It is also reported that the company is bringing voice calls not just on the iPad on the web app as well. The site reports that there is a probability of company bringing video calls to the web app as well but since it does have enough evidence to confirm video calls, it classifies it as ‘Rumor’.

Other features recently spotted on the WhatsApp Beta includes adding up to three users in a group call, including the user. Adding three people means a total of four can talk in the same call.

WhatsApp has 200 million monthly active users in India. It has a total if 1.5 billion users worldwide. The company recently brought UPI payment for the Android and iOS users in India. Users can directly pay money through the chat app.
